Local Camera Backup is a personal, self-hosted application operated by its owner.

Google account and Drive access

The application uses Google's limited drive.file permission. It receives authorization tokens, a Google account permission identifier, and the selected destination folder's identifier and name. It uses this information to maintain the owner's connection, validate the destination, and upload new saved captures. It does not request access to the owner's entire Drive.

Storage and sharing

Authorization credentials, destination settings, upload status, and temporary upload copies are stored on the owner's server. Copies of enabled captures are sent over HTTPS to the owner's selected Google Drive folder. Access to those copies follows that folder's Google Drive sharing settings. Camera media and Google user data are not sold, used for advertising, or used to train generalized AI models by this application.

Retention and control

The owner can pause uploads, disconnect Google Drive, and delete local media. Disconnecting removes the server's stored Google credentials. To revoke the Google authorization grant, the owner can remove the application from their Google account's third-party connections. Deleting local media does not delete its Google Drive copy; cloud copies can be managed directly in Drive. An upload already in progress may finish when paused or disconnected. Upload queue records remain in the private server data directory until the owner removes that application data.

This informational website

This site does not collect camera footage, provide account sign-in, or include application analytics. Its hosting provider may process normal web request information to serve and secure these pages.

The application's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
